About Us
True Care Creation Story
True Care first opened its doors in 1987 in a little blue and white house at 214 S. Grant Street. Known then as The Caring Center, the organization was headquartered there for 11 years until the house was sold. Our home for the next 6 years was in the basement of The City Center Building at 100 West B Street. It was during this time that our Baby and Me Program, an incentives based mentoring program for young women who have a positive pregnancy test, was born.
The year 2004 was a year of great vision and change. It was then that the board of directors made the decision to convert the pregnancy resource center to a medical clinic, offering pregnancy testing and limited obstetrical ultrasound performed by trained, medical personnel. 2004 was also the year we purchased and remodeled our current home at 1746 S. Poplar Street. In May of 2005 we received a new ultrasound machine through Focus On the Family’s Option Ultrasound Program and had our grand re-opening as a medical clinic.
Today we are in the process of optimizing our Center to reach even more women who see abortion as their best or only option. As a result, we have made changes in our marketing, in the way we interface with patients, in the services we provide and in the way we follow-up with patients. It is our goal to attract more abortion-minded women, to serve them with excellence and to see them carry their babies to term as the first step in a process of transformation. We are working to ensure that True Care Women’s Resource Center is the first choice for every woman in Casper who finds herself in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy.
Since our opening in 1987, more than 11,740 women and families have walked through our doors.
